The Washington Redskins have released 34-year old offensive guard Randy Thomas.  Thomas played in only 2 games (both starts) for the Redskins last season as he was injured most of the year.  Thomas played in 82 games (all starts) in his 7 years with the Redskins.  The Redskins are going in a new direction on the O-Line likely installing a new zone blocking scheme and Thomas didn’t fit into their plans.

The Washington Redskins waive RB Marcus Mason

Poor Marcus Mason.  The Redskins decided to keep three running backs so he got the shaft.  Mason played in 5 games this preseason for the Redskins and he carried the ball 66 times for 317 yards (4.8 ypc) and he also caught 8 passes for 56 yards (7.0 avg) with 1 TD grab.  The Redskins won’t be able to add him to the practice squad as the Ravens signed him to theirs.
