The Washington Redskins lose Carlos Rogers for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Redskins Talk,Injury Reports,Redskins Headlines by admin on Friday 2 November 2007 at 12:58 pm

Carlos Rogers was starting to live up to his ability this season but it ended on Sunday against the Patriots when he tore his ACL and MCL.  Rogers had 25 tackles and a interception that he returned 61 yards for a TD this season.  This will definately hurt the Redskins defense moving forward.

DE Phillip Daniels is out for this Sunday for the Washington Redskins

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Redskins Talk,Injury Reports,Redskins Headlines by dawgpounded on Thursday 11 October 2007 at 10:18 pm

Phillip Daniels is likely to sit out Sunday’s game with the Packers due to a arm injury.  He has only made 5 tackles so far this season so the Redskins likely won’t miss him too much.  Demetric Evans will start in Daniels’ spot and he also has 5 tackles but he has a sack too.  Rookie Chris Wilson (1 tackle) also should get some added playing time this weekend.

Antwaan Randle El is likely out Sunday for the Washington Redskins

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Redskins Talk,Injury Reports,Redskins Headlines by dawgpounded on Thursday 11 October 2007 at 9:46 pm

The Redskins will likely be without their top receiver of this season and the starting punt returner in Antwaan Randle El who has a hamstring problem.  Randle El is having his best season as a receiver as he has caught 18 passes for 338 yards (18.8 avg) and he also has returned 12 punts for 78 yards (6.5 avg).  James Thrash will replace Randle El on punt returns and he’s done a good job so far returning 2 punts for 71 yards (35.5 avg) so far this season.  Keenan McCardell will likely start opposite Santana Moss who’s ready to return from injury.  McCardell has caught 2 passes for 39 yards (19.5 avg) so far this season for the Redskins.

The Washington Redskins lose RG Randy Thomas to injury

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Redskins Talk,Injury Reports,Redskins Headlines by dawgpounded on Tuesday 18 September 2007 at 6:14 pm

The Redskins might lose starting right guard Randy Thomas for the remainder of the season due to torn triceps.  Coupled with the loss of starting RT John Jansen the Redskins will likely start running to the left side a lot more behind Pete Kendall and Chris Samuels.  The Redskins can’t afford any more injuries to the offensive line or the offense will suffer.

The Washington Redskins lose OT Jon Jansen

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Redskins Talk,Injury Reports by dawgpounded on Monday 10 September 2007 at 2:28 pm

The Redskins have lost OT Jon Jansen possibly for the season with a broken ankle.  Jansen was replaced in the lineup by rookie Stephen Heyer who did a good job.  Veteran Todd Wade played well last season at tackle for the Redskins and he should do a good job.  It will be a big dropoff from Jansen to Wade but he still is a decent football player.

The Washington Redskins lose RB Derrick Blaylock for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Redskins Talk,Injury Reports by dawgpounded on Friday 31 August 2007 at 12:57 pm

The Redskins have lost reserve running back Derrick Blaylock for the season with an injury problem.  He carried the football 23 times for 57 yards (2.5 ypc) in the pre-season and he also caught 3 passes for 13 yards (4.3 avg).  He was likely going to make the team so the Redskins decided to re-sign running back Dee Brown.  Brown was released earlier by the Redskins in the pre-season because he didn’t look too good carrying the football 8 times for 13 yards (1.6 ypc) and catching 1 pass for 3 yards.  Brown will likely be the #4 RB for the Redskins when the season begins next week.

The Washington Redskins lose WR Mike Espy for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Redskins Talk,Injury Reports by dawgpounded on Wednesday 22 August 2007 at 7:19 am

Mike Espy will miss the entire 2007 season after he ruptured his patellar tendon.  This hurts the Redskins as Espy was a young receiver that they liked.  It will be interesting to see if the Redskins give Espy a chance to prove himself next season or if they look in a different direction.

Linebacker Marcus Washington to miss a couple of weeks for the Washington Redskins

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Redskins Talk,Injury Reports by dawgpounded on Wednesday 22 August 2007 at 7:09 am

Starting linebacker Marcus Washington will miss a couple of weeks with a dislocated elbow.  The Redskins hope he will be ready for the regular season because they are not deep at linebacker.  Washington played in 14 games last season for the Redskins and he made 86 tackles, had 2.5 sacks and defensed 10 passes.

Clinton Portis’ season is over

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports by ravenhater on Tuesday 14 November 2006 at 10:23 pm

Clinton Portis had surgery to repair a broken hand and he has been placed on I.R. ending his season.  It’s been a rough season for Portis who broke his shoulder making a tackle in a pre-season game.  Look for LeDell Betts to get most of the carries, but T.J. Duckett will finally get some playing time too.

Santana Moss out for Sunday

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports by ravenhater on Saturday 4 November 2006 at 1:03 am

The Redskins worst nightmare has become reality as it’s top receiver Santana Moss will miss Sunday’s game with the Cowboys with his bad hamstring.  The Redskins will be forced to depend on two receivers that they thought were much better than they actually are.  The Redskins threw a lot of money at Antwaan Randle El and he has caught 18 passes for 167 yards (9.3 avg) and a TD.  The Redskins expected much more of him.  The Redskins traded a 4th round pick to the Niners for Brandon Lloyd, and he has been horrible.  Lloyd has only caught 11 passes for 164 yards (14.9 avg) this season.
