The Redskins were in this game until the 4th quarter, when the Eagles scored the last 21 points of this game to pull away.  Rex Grossman wasn’t at his best in this game as he completed 22 of 45 passes for 256 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 INT.  Evan Royster had another huge game with 113 yards on 20 carries (5.7 ypc) and he also caught 5 passes for 52 yards (10.4 avg).  FB Darrell Young got some work in with 1 carry for 12 yards and 3 grabs for 32 yards (10.7 avg) in this game.  Roy Helu only rushed for 5 yards on 4 carries (1.3 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 48 yards (24.0 avg) with 1 TD grab.  WRs Santana Moss (3 rec, 45 yards) and Jabar Gaffney (4 rec, 28 yards) led the way in the passing game.  The Redskins finished up with 130 yards rushing on 25 carries (5.2 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 45 passes (48.9%) for 247 yards as they had possession of the ball for 30:41.

The defense was good for three quarters in this game before they blew a gasket.  Safety Reed Doughty (6 tackles) and OLB Brian Orakpo (3 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 QB hit) led the way for the Redskins on D in this game.  LB Perry Riley (3 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 fumble recovery), safety O.J. Atogwe (3 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) and CB DeAngelo Hall (3 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception) also pitched in for the Redskins on D in this game.  The Eagles finished up with 75 yards rushing on 19 carries (3.9 ypc) and they also completed 24 of 39 passes (61.5%) for 315 yards.  The Redskins finished the 2011 season with a 5-11 record.

Washington Redskins (5-10) vs. Minnesota Vikings (3-12)

The Redskins just couldn’t keep up with the Vikings in this game.  Rex Grossman had a solid game as he completed 26 of 41 passes for 284 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 INT.  Evan Royster led the way on the ground for the Redskins in this game with 19 carries for 132 yards (6.9 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 15 yards (7.5 avg) in this game.  WRs Jabar Gaffney (6 rec, 77 yards, TD), Donte Stallworth (5 rec, 59 yards, TD) and Santana Moss (4 rec, 46 yards) led the way for the Redskins in the passing game.  The Redskins finished up with 141 yards rushing on 24 carries (5.9 ypc) and they also completed 26 of 41 passes (63.4%) for 256 yards as they had possession of the ball for 30:26.

The defense was not good against the Vikings last weekend.  LB London Fletcher (17 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1/2 a sack and 1 QB hit) and safety Reed Doughty (10 tackles) led the way for the Redskins on D in this game.  The Vikings finished up with 241 yards rushing on 38 carries (6.3 ypc) and they also completed 12 of 18 passes (66.7%) for 148 yards in this game.  The Redskins are now 5-10 on the year.

Washington Redskins 23, New York Giants 10

The Redskins took it to the Giants as they jumped them early in the game and never looked back.  Rex Grossman was so-so for the Redskins today as he completed 15 of 24 passes for 185 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 INTs.  Roy Helu led the way on the ground for the Redskins today with 53 yards rushing on 23 carries (2.3 ypc).  He also caught 3 passes for 16 yards (5.3 avg) in this game.  Evan Royster (10 carries for 36 yards) and Darrel Young (4 carries for 14 yards with a TD run, also helped out for the Redskins on the ground in this game.  WRs Jabar Gaffney (6 rec, 85 yards) and Santana Moss (2 rec, 40 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Redskins.  The Redskins rushed for 123 yards on 40 carries (3.1 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 24 passes (62.5%) for 177 yards as they had possession of the ball for 35:00.

The defense was outstanding for the Redskins today.  LB London Fletcher (12 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 pass defensed), LB Perry Riley (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) and safety Reed Doughty (7 tackles) led the way for the Redskins on D in this game.  CB DeAngelo Hall (6 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception), safety O.J. Atogwe (6 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 interception) and CB Josh Wilson (4 tackles, 3 passes defensed and 1 interception) also played well for the Redskins in this game.  The Giants finished up with 91 yards rushing on 18 carries (5.1 ypc) and they also completed 23 of 40 passes (57.5%) for 233 yards in this game.  The Redskins are now 5-9 on the season and they swept the New York Giants.

The Redskins put up one hell of a fight yesterday before falling just a tad short.  Rex Grossman completed 19 of 32 passes for 252 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 interception, as he played pretty solid football.  WR/KR Brandon Banks threw a 49-yard TD pass to Santana Moss on a very nice trick play.  Roy Helu had a great game for the Skins as he carried the ball 27 times for 126 yards (4.7 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 6 yards.  Evan Royster carried the ball 6 times for 44 yards (7.3 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 6 yards (3.0 avg) in this game.  WRs Donte’ Stallworth (4 rec, 96 yards), Jabar Gaffney (6 rec, 92 yards, TD), Santana Moss (3 rec, 81 yards, TD) and David Anderson (2 rec, 12 yards, TD) led the way for the Skins in the passing game yesterday.  The Redskins finished up with 170 yards rushing on 34 carries (5.0 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 33 passes (60.6%) for 293 yards as they had possession of the ball for 36:09.

The defense was solid against the run, but not so good against the pass yesterday for the Redskins.  LBs London Fletcher (10 tackles and 2 QB hits) and Perry Riley (9 tackles and 1 pass defensed) led the way for the Redskins on D in this game.  CB Josh Wilson pitched in with 4 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception in this game.  The Patriots finished up with 79 yards rushing on 20 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 37 passes (59.5%) for 352 yards in this game.  The Redskins are now 4-9 on the season.

New York Jets 34, Washington Redskins 19

The Redskins folded up in the 4th quarter yesterday when the Jets dropped 21 points on them.  Rex Grossman was overmatched yesterday as he completed 19 of 46 passes for 221 yards with 0 TD passes and 1 INT.  Roy Helu led the way on the ground for the Redskins yesterday with 100 yards rushing on 23 carries (4.3 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He also caught 4 passes for 42 yards (10.5 avg) in this game.  TE Fred Davis (6 rec, 99 yards) and WR Santana Moss (5 rec, 42 yards) led the Redskins in the passing game.  The Redskins finished up with 100 yards rushing on 23 carries (4.3 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 46 passes (41.3%) for 204 yards as they had possession of the ball for 27:48.

The defense was pretty solid for the Redskins despite the final score.  LB London Fletcher led the way for the Redskins on D in this game with 17 tackles.  LB Perry Riley (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 fumble recovery) and safety Reed Doughty (8 tackles) also pitched in for the Redskins on D yesterday.  The Jets finished up with 101 yards rushing on 30 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 32 passes (59.4%) for 165 yards in this game.  The Redskins are now 4-8 on the year.

Washington Redskins 23, Seattle Seahawks 17

The Washington Redskins scored the last 16 points of this game in the last 9:51 to surge to a very nice road win in Seattle today.  The good Rex Grossman showed up late in the game today as he completed 26 of 35 passes for 314 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 INTs.  Rookie RB Roy Helu led the way on the ground for the Skins today with 108 yards rushing on 23 carries (4.7 ypc) with 1 TD run and he also caught 7 passes for 54 yards (7.7 avg).  WR Jabar Gaffney (5 rec, 72 yards), TE Fred Davis (4 rec, 58 yards, TD) and WR Anthony Armstrong (1 rec, 50 yards, TD) led the way for the Redskins in the passing game today.  WR Santana Moss returned to action for the Skins today and he pitched in with 4 grabs for 29 yards (7.3 avg).  The Redskins finished up with 110 yards rushing on 29 carries (3.8 ypc) and they also completed 26 of 35 passes (74.3%) for 306 yards as they had possession of the ball for 33:20.

The defense played pretty well for the Redskins today.  LBs Perry Riley (14 tackles) and London Fletcher (11 tackles) led the way for the Redskins today.  DE Stephen Bowen (6 tackles, 2 QB hits and 1/2 a sack) and CB DeAngelo Hall (5 tackles, 6 passes defensed and 1 interception) also had big games for the Skins today.  The Seahawks finished up with 124 yards rushing on 30 carries (4.1 ypc) and they also completed 14 of 30 passes (46.7%) for 126 yards.  The Redskins are now 4-7 on the year.

Dallas Cowboys 27, Washington Redskins 24 in O.T.

Graham Gano missed two field goals, including one in O.T. and he is the goat for this loss.  The good Rex Grossman showed up yesterday as he completed 25 of 38 passes for 289 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 3 times for 10 yards (3.3 ypc) with 1 TD run in his game.  Roy Helu led the way on the ground for the Redskins with 35 yards on 8 carries (4.4 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 3 yards.  WRs Jabar Gaffney (7 rec, 115 yards, TD) and Donte’ Stallworth (4 rec, 51 yards, TD) led the way through the air for the Redskins in this game.  TE Fred Davis pitched in with 6 grabs for 49 yards (8.2 avg).  The Redskins finished up with 60 yards rushing on 24 carries (2.5 ypc) and they also completed 25 of 38 passes (65.8%) for 276 yards as they had possession of the ball for 33:20.

The Redskins’ D was good against the run but not too good against the pass yesterday.  LB London Fletcher (16 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit) and safety DeJon Gomes (14 tackles) led the way for the Skins on D in this game.  CB DeAngelo Hall (11 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) and LB Perry Riley (11 tackles) also were very busy in this game for the Redskins.  The Cowboys finished up with 89 yards rushing on 32 carries (2.8 ypc) and they also completed 23 of 37 passes (62.2%) for 264 yards in this game.  The Redskins are now 3-7 on the season.

Miami Dolphins 20, Washington Redskins 9

The Redskins went back to Rex Grossman at QB and the results weren’t too good.  Grossman completed 21 of 32 passes for 215 yards with 0 TD passes and 2 INTs.  Roy Helu led the way on the ground for the Redskins once again with 41 yards rushing on six carries (6.8 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 13 yards.  Ryan Torain had a hard time yesterday as he rushed for only 20 yards on 11 carries (1.8 ypc) in this game.  Rookie WR Leonard Hankerson led the way for the Redskins in the passing game with 8 grabs for 106 yards (13.3 avg) yesterday.  WR Jabar Gaffney (3 rec, 37 yards) and TE Fred Davis (3 rec, 28 yards) also pitched in for the Redskins in the passing game yesterday.  The Redskins finished up with 61 yards rushing on 17 carries (3.6 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 32 passes (65.6%) for 185 yards as they had possession of the ball for 26:27.

The defense didn’t play too bad for the Redskins yesterday.  Safety Reed Doughty (9 tackles), LB Perry Riley (9 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss and 1 QB hit) and LB London Fletcher (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 QB hit) led the way for the Redskins in this game.  OLB Ryan Kerrigan (6 tackles and 2 sacks), DE Stephen Bowen (fumble recovery) and CB Kevin Barnes (4 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 pass defensed and a interception that he returned 30 yards) also made big plays for the Redskins on D in this game.  The Dolphins finished up with 103 yards rushing on 33 carries (3.1 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 29 passes (69%) for 200 yards.  The Redskins are now 3-6 on the year.

San Francisco 49ers 19, Washington Redskins 11

The Redskins just weren’t good enough to beat the Niners yesterday.  John Beck completed 30 of 47 passes for 254 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 interception in this game.  Roy Helu got a lot of work in yesterday for the Redskins as he carried the ball 10 times for 41 yards (4.1 ypc) and he also caught 14 passes for 105 yards (7.5 avg).  TE Fred Davis (4 rec, 42 yards), WR Jabar Gaffney (4 rec, 40 yards, TD) and WR Leonard Hankerson (4 rec, 34 yards) helped out in the passing game for the Redskins yesterday.  The Redskins finished up with 52 yards rushing on 15 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 30 of 47  passes (63.8%) for 251 yards as they had possession of the ball for 27:41.

The defense was so-so for the Redskins yesterday.  CB DeAngelo Hall (12 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss), safety Reed Doughty (11 tackles) and LB London Fletcher (10 tackles and 1 pass defensed) led the way for the Redskins on D yesterday.  Safety LaRon Landry pitched in with 8 tackles and 1 fumble recovery in this game.  The 49ers finished up with 138 yards rushing on 32 carries (4.3 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 24 passes (70.8%) for 188 yards in this game.  The Redskins are now 3-5 on the year.

The Washington Redskins were awful against the Bills yesterday.  The Bills sacked poor John Beck nine times yesterday!  Beck completed 20 of 33 passes for 208 yards with 0 TD passes and 2 INTs.  He also carried the ball 3 times for 10 yards (3.3 ypc) in this game.  Ryan Torain led the way on the ground for the Redskins with 14 yards rushing on 8 carries (1.8 ypc) and he also caught 1 pass for 6 yards.  TE Fred Davis (8 rec, 94 yards) and WR Jabar Gaffney (4 rec, 40 yards) led the way for the Skins in the passing game.  The Redskins finished up with 26 yards rushing on 12 carries (2.2 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 33 passes (60.6%) for 152 yards as they only had possession of the ball for 25:09.

The Redskins didn’t play too well defensively yesterday, but you can’t blame LB London Fletcher for that.  Fletcher led the way for the Redskins yesterday with 20 tackles, 1/2 a sack, 1 pass defensed, 2 QB hits and 1 interception.  LB Rocky McIntosh (7 tackles), safety LaRon Landry (7 tackles) and LB Brian Orakpo (5 tackles and 1 fumble recovery) also pitched in for the Redskins in this game.  The Bills finished up with 138 yards rushing on 33 carries (4.2 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 27 passes (77.8%) for 252 yards in thsi game.  The Redskins are now 3-4 on the season.
