The Washington Redskins select OT Trent Williams

The Redskins have selected 6′4″, 305 pound OT Trent Williams out of Oklahoma with the fourth pick of the first round of the NFL Draft.  Williams is a very good athlete who rarely gets beat when he’s focused because of his speed.  He will likely step right in and start for the Redskins providing that he can pick up the new zone blocking scheme that they are going to employ.  Williams was picked over Russell Okung because of his athletic ability as he is good at hitting moving targets.  Williams played in 12 games (all starts) at Oklahoma last season and he played in 51 games (39 starts) in his four years there.  I really like this pick for the Redskins.

Nice draft, Skins! We got our blocker to protect our 33 year-old QB. New coach, new QB, rookies….looks like this team is finally ready to compete.

I think the Redskins did well in the draft and even better in the off-season. Daniel Snyder took advantage of having no salary cap this season and I think the Redskins are going to benefit big time from it.

I think this is one way to improve their game. Good they have the right people for the position. With constant practice, they would eventually get their goal.
