2. (48) Fred Davis, TE
The Redskins were pleased to see TE Fred Davis of USC available to them in the 2nd round. He will serve the team mostly in two TE sets as Chris Cooley is entrenched as the starter. Davis is a big guy at 6′2″, 250 pounds and he runs a 4.55 40 so he can get down the field. He is a converted WR so receiving is his main skill on the football field….he will need to work on his blocking. Davis played in 48 games (26 starts) at USC and he caught 117 passes for 1,408 yards (12.0 avg) with 13 TD grabs. Another nice pick by the Redskins.
