Buffalo Bills 17, Washington Redskins 16
The Redskins lost a painful game yesterday as they were reeling from the death of safety Sean Taylor earlier in the week. The Redskins played their hearts out yesterday and they should have won the game but Joe Gibbs got called for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for calling back-to-back timeouts which moved the Bills last drive’s field goal attempt from 51-yards to a 36-yarder which Rian Lindell nailed to beat the Redskins with less than a minute left in the game. Jason Campbell completed 21 of 36 passes for 216 yards with 0 TD passes and a interception. He also carried the ball 4 times for 19 yards (4.8 ypc). Clinton Portis found running room hard to find as he carried the football 25 times for 50 yards (2.0 ypc) with a TD run and he also caught 2 passes for 10 yards (5.0 avg). TE Chris Cooley led the way for the Redskins with 7 grabs for 89 yards (12.7 avg) and WR Santana Moss caught 5 passes for 63 yards (12.6 avg) to lead the way for the Redskins in the passing attack. The Redskins finished with 80 yards rushing on 30 carries (2.7 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 37 passes for 202 yards.
The Redskins defense was led by LaRon Landry (8 tackles) and Fred Smoot (9 tackles). The Bills finished up with 100 yards rushing on 20 carries (5.0 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 36 passes for 257 yards.
