The Washington Redskins are on the clock………..

Blogged under Bloglockers, The Draft Report, Front Page, General Redskins Talk by dawgpounded on Sunday 15 April 2007 at 12:00 pm

I have conducted a complete 7 round draft for every team in the NFL.  If you want to see what I have projected for any other team in the NFL, click on the team name in the right hand margin and go to the team’s Draft Report page if you don’t see the article on the front page of the site.  This was a lot of work so I hope you enjoy it.

When will the Redskins learn that the NFL Draft is important?  They keep trading away all of their picks for veterans as they only have 5 picks in this year’s draft and here’s who I project them to take:

1. (6)  Amobi O’Koye, DT, Louisville

5. (143)  Noland Burchette, DE, Virginia Tech

6. (179)  KaMichael Hall, OLB, Georgia Tech

6. (205)  Dan Parrish, OT, Florida A&M

7. (216)  James Jones, WR, San Jose State

O’Koye could be a monster on the interior of the Redskins defense, but the team will be hurt by not having any picks in the 2-4 rounds where teams usually can find starting players.  One day the Redskins will learn.

The Washington Redskins signs CB David Macklin

Blogged under Free Agent Additions, Bloglockers, Front Page, General Redskins Talk by dawgpounded on Saturday 7 April 2007 at 10:29 am

The Redskins signed Macklin to a 1-year contract.  He played in 14 games last season for the Arizona Cardinals and he made 34 tackles, 1 interception and 4 defensed 4 passes.  This was a good signing by the Redskins who need more depth in their defensive backfield.

The Washington Redskins re-sign punter Derrick Frost

The Redskins have decided to bring back punter Derrick Frost as they signed him to a one year deal.  He played in all 16 games for the Redskins last season and he punted the ball 81 times for 3,471 yards (42.9 avg).  He had a net average of 36.3 yards per punt and pinned the opposing team inside their own 20 yard line 27 (33.3%) times.
