Redskins have a glut of running backs

This is actually a good problem to have.  Clinton Portis is the unquestioned #1 running back on the team, but he’s been a little banged up this season.  Still, when Portis does play, he’s been electric.  Portis is averaging 4.8 yards per carry and 22.3 yards per catch.  In Portis’ early absence, Ledell Betts has really stepped up big time!  Betts has 186 yards rushing and is averaging 5.3 yards per carry, he also has caught 13 passes for 115 yards.  Hopefully, Gibbs can find a way to let Betts get some carries when Portis is 100%.  TJ Duckett is the forgotten man of the backfield.  Duckett only has 5 carries for 24 yards this season.  Duckett is a rugged, short-yardage back.  The problem for him is that the other 2 backs are playing so well that Coach Gibbs leaves them in on short-yardage plays.  Duckett has been working with the special teams to try to get himself some playing time.
